Dole Shake It Up! Summer Tour Los Angeles

The Dole Shake It Up Tour came to The Grove Los Angeles on Saturday, June 9th and brought some frozen food fun to The Grove. The tour’s frozen food truck and smoothie station both offered delicious free frozen fruit and smoothies for the masses.

The samples included Dole’s new Frozen Fruit Single-serve Cups in Strawberry, Blueberry, and Pineapple as well as pineapple juice-based Strawberry, Strawberry Banana and Mixed Berry Fruit Smoothie Shakers that were a huge hit with all The Grove shoppers. At home, the Fruit Smoothie Shakers can be easily mixed with milk, soy milk, orange juice, apple juice, coconut water, or even water, and make for a great quick healthy on-the-go snack that is under 190 calories.

The Dole Shake It Up! Summer Tour’s mission is to encourage children across the nation to make healthy snacking decisions and also to incorporate fun exercise activities into their lifestyles. To promote this message, every hour at the tour, a local Zumba dancer rounded up the masses and led everyone in a dance work out. 

The Latin-inspired dance routine was fun, easy to learn and entertaining to watch. Attendees included men, women, children, and members of the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood.  All of the dancers had a blast while burning off their calories for the day. Audiences witnessed live entertainment while waiting in line for their smoothies.

In addition to the free products and fun events, Dole’s tour is benefitting Boys & Girls Clubs across the country. Eight local Boys & Girls Clubs receive donations for every smoothie or fruit cup handed out and last weekend was Los Angeles’ turn. The tour’s next stop will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco.

Dole has already pledged 66,000 donations.  Help them obtain their goal of 100,000 and make a difference in the lives of children in our community.

Ian Ziering, his wife, and their daughter also stopped by the event to enjoy some delicious Dole Fruit Smoothie Shakers and Frozen Fruit Single-serve Cups on the gorgeous day. The family had a frozen fruit and smoothie picnic on the lawn in front of the Dole Shake It Up! Summer Tour frozen truck and seemed to enjoy themselves to the fullest.
